Beyond Storage 2

If you can do it using items in your inventory, you can now also do it by PULLING from items in nearby storage crates, vehicles, drones, workstations, collectors, etc.

In addition, you can easily PUSH from any of those sources to nearby crates, for excellent inventory management.

This version is for 7 Days to Die v2, which is why the mod is called 'Beyond Storage 2'.

The current source repository is located at https://github.com/superguru/7d2d_mod_BeyondStorage2.

• In v2.6.9:
• remove pullFromCollectors and pullFromWorkstationOutputs config settings as they have no use case
• rename pullFromXXX config settings to consumeFromXXX to avoid confusion with the Smart Pull and Smart Push functionality
• In v2.6.5, add smart pull to top up the loadout slots (locked inventory slots) of Vehicles, Drones, Players from nearby storages
• In v2.6.3, add smart push to Player Backpack, Dew Collectors, Apiaries, and Workstations (campfires, forges, chem stations, etc.)
• In v2.6.2, compatibility with v2.6 of the game, as well as UI fixes for the smart loot button
• In v2.5.2, initial iteration to support v2.5 of the game
• In v2.4.0, add smart sort functionality to backpack window
• In v2.3.5, make it more server admin friendly, add more console commands, less debug logging, change config properties at runtime
• In v2.3.0, remove old performance related config options, such as EnableXYZ, and rename onlyStorageCrates option to pullFromPlayerCraftedNonCrates, to make it clearer that player crafted wall safes, etc. can be excluded
• In v2.2.7, add lock picking and payments from storage sources
• In v2.2.5, add console command bsconfig to display the current configuration
• In v2.2.4, add live recipe tracking updates when anything becomes available, like a workstation crafted item, a cooked item, a dew collector completion, etc.
• In v2.2.3, add ability to keep track of available ammo from all pullable sources
• In v2.2.0, pull from drones, paint from all storages, supports slot locking for containers, only support 7D2D 2.x and later
• In v2.1.4, final version to support 7D2D 2.1
• In v2.1.3, items can be pulled from nearby Dew Collectors (configurable).
• In v2.1.0, items can be pulled from nearby Workstations (configurable).

Pull Order:

• Player Backpack (as per vanilla game)
• Player Toolbelt (as per vanilla game)
• Then:
1. Drones <<== Added this because of community requests
2. Dew Collectors / Apiaries
3. Workstations
4. Containers (storage crates, etc.)
5. Vehicles

⌛History

Undead Legacy by Subquake was almost certainly the first mod to introduce the "remote broadcasting" of items for crafting, as if you had a gigantic inventory that included your storage crates.

CraftFromContainers by aedenthorn implemented this for later versions of the game, as Undead Legacy was not available for post A21 at the time. The source code is at https://github.com/aedenthorn/7D2DMods.

1.0 Beyond Storage was refactored and updated for 7 Days to Die v1 by unv-annihilator and extended this idea, based on the code from aedenthorn. This brought the addition of vehicles to pull items from. The code quality and stability of this mod high. See https://github.com/unv-annihilator/7D2D_Mods/tree/main for that fork.

Beyond Storage 2 added pulling from all conceivable sources, like drones, workstation outputs, dew collectors. Also added all inventory operations like paying for items at a trader, painting, lock picking. The mod also fixes many notification bugs from the original game, and all operations are seamless. Pushing items from any place you can pull from, in order to auto-sort items, was also added.
