Summary

• Hand-written "Updated" and "Last updated" lines drift, because nothing checks them. Across Shalom's repos on 2026-10-30, 27 of the 33 outside the hub disagreed with git about when their file last changed. Git already keeps that date, so the stamps go. Dates stay on decisions and on frozen documents, where the date dates the document.
• Removed from AGENTS.md (said 2026-03-10, changed 2026-09-24) and wiki/index.md (said 2026-05-02, changed 2026-09-13). /knowledge-compile doesn't write the stamp, so nothing will put it back.

Second commit: the check that was failing. The living-quotes check failed on wiki/entities/lao-tzu.md:22. That wasn't this PR's doing: on 2026-10-19 taoteching locked 唯 (wéi — "only"), and every 夫唯 (fū wéi — "only because") line now reads "Only because…". The page still quoted chapter 2's old wording, "Because the sage does not stay, it does not leave." It now quotes the chapter as it reads, "Only because the sage does not stay does it not leave," so any branch will pass.

Part of one grooming pass across every repo. The same change is in each repo that had stamps.

Test plan

• CI passes: quote-pool lint, the living-quotes tests and check, and corpus links
• No tool or convention in this repo reads the stamps (searched outside Markdown, and in the docs' own rules

• Nothing else describes these stamps.
