Scripts from the ClearStack blog post Reviving a 2013 Mac Pro "Trashcan" as an Ubuntu 26.04 VM Server.
Connects the Mac Pro's Broadcom BCM4360 Wi-Fi (wlp13s0) using netplan. The password is stored as a hashed key in /etc/netplan/60-wifi.yaml (mode 600), and the interface is marked optional so boot never waits for Wi-Fi.
Install the driver first:
sudo apt install broadcom-sta-dkms wpasupplicant iw rfkill # wl driver; blacklists b43/bcma/ssbThen:
curl -fsSLO https://raw.githubusercontent.com/clearstackio/macpro-2013-ubuntu/main/wifi-connect.sh
sudo bash wifi-connect.sh "YourSSID" "your-password" # Ethernet stays the default route
sudo bash wifi-connect.sh "YourSSID" "your-password" --primary # Wi-Fi becomes the default route
sudo bash wifi-connect.sh "YourSSID" "" # open network
sudo bash wifi-connect.sh "YourSSID" "your-password" --dry-run # print the config only
sudo bash wifi-connect.sh --remove # undoTested on Ubuntu 26.04 (kernel 7.0) with broadcom-sta-dkms 6.30.223.271-29ubuntu1.
