Hi, I’m Rishikesh Pote 👋

Senior AI Engineer & AI Architect • Agentic AI Engineer • Enterprise Systems Builder

Rishikesh Pote — AI and Data Architect

I build AI systems that survive contact with production.

Enterprise AI • Agentic Systems • Knowledge Engineering • AI Reliability • Cloud Data Platforms

👋 The Short Version

Lo-fi developer coding at night

I’m an AI and Data Architect, engineering lead, and hands-on builder working at the intersection of:

  • Agentic AI and multi-agent systems
  • Enterprise architecture and governance
  • RAG, knowledge graphs, and organizational memory
  • LLM evaluation, reliability, and observability
  • Cloud-scale data and AI platforms
  • AI-native software engineering

I have designed, built, and delivered production-grade systems across Fortune 500 programs, particularly in regulated and data-intensive environments where accuracy, explainability, security, governance, and operational reliability matter.

My role rarely ends with a design document.

I work across the complete journey:

Ambiguous problem → Architecture → Working system → Evaluation → Production → Outcome ownership

That means shaping architecture, building core components, guiding engineering teams, working through UAT and production readiness, navigating enterprise constraints, and staying accountable for whether the system creates real value.

🏢 What I Have Been Building

Most enterprise implementations are confidential. The work below is therefore described through its engineering patterns and outcomes rather than client or internal product names.

Area Representative work
Agentic enterprise workflows Multi-agent systems for authoring, analysis, review, quality control, and workflow automation across complex domain documents
AI quality and evaluation Rubric-based evaluation, structural validation, deterministic checks, critique loops, LLM-as-judge, hallucination checks, and human review
Architecture intelligence AI systems that understand architecture artifacts, map them to structured ontologies, evaluate them against enterprise guardrails, and produce actionable reports
Architecture generation Transforming business and technical requirements into structured architecture models, C4 views, Mermaid diagrams, and governance-ready artifacts
Enterprise knowledge systems RAG, hybrid retrieval, metadata-aware search, knowledge graphs, ontology-as-code, source grounding, and domain context engineering
Secure agent integrations MCP-based capabilities, authentication, SSO, authorization boundaries, governed tool access, and enterprise integrations
Cloud data platforms Lakehouse and modern data-platform architectures using Databricks, Spark, Delta, dbt, Snowflake, Airflow, AWS, Azure, and GCP
AI-native engineering Spec-driven development, repository intelligence, coding agents, durable project memory, automated review, and governed human approvals
Applied AI products Custom workflow, decision-support, and operational-intelligence applications for enterprise teams and small businesses

🧠 My AI Engineering Lens

A production AI system is much more than an LLM endpoint.

Reliable AI = Model + Context + Knowledge + Tools + Memory + Control Loop + Evaluation + Observability + Governance

I work across these layers:

1. Prompt Engineering

  • Clear task instructions and boundaries
  • Structured-output contracts
  • Few-shot examples
  • Task decomposition
  • Model-specific prompting
  • Prompt versioning and regression testing

2. Context Engineering

  • Semantic and hybrid retrieval
  • Metadata filtering
  • Context ranking and compression
  • Query rewriting and decomposition
  • Conversation state
  • Domain ontologies
  • Knowledge graphs
  • Working and long-term memory
  • Grounding and provenance

3. Harness Engineering

  • Tool definitions and permissions
  • Structured agent state
  • Model and tool routing
  • Retry and fallback policies
  • Validation gates
  • Token and cost controls
  • Sandboxed execution
  • Authentication and authorization
  • Human approval boundaries

4. Loop Engineering

  • Generate → Critique → Revise
  • Plan → Execute → Observe
  • Retrieve → Validate → Re-retrieve
  • Author → Review → Correct
  • Judge → Escalate → Approve
  • Detect failure → Recover → Resume

5. Graph Engineering

  • Conditional routing
  • Parallel agent execution
  • Supervisor–worker patterns
  • Specialist-agent collaboration
  • Human-in-the-loop checkpoints
  • Recoverable workflow state
  • Long-running processes
  • Deterministic and agentic node combinations

🤖 Agentic Systems

I’m interested in agents as engineered systems, not autonomous demos.

My work and research cover:

  • Tool-using agents
  • Multi-agent orchestration
  • Supervisor, router, planner, and specialist agents
  • Agent memory and persistent state
  • Conversational workflows
  • Long-running and resumable agents
  • Critique and reflection loops
  • Agent-to-agent collaboration
  • MCP servers, clients, tools, resources, and prompts
  • Secure MCP access using SSO and authorization
  • LLM-as-judge and multi-layer evaluation
  • Model routing across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini
  • Human escalation for sensitive or low-confidence decisions

The central question behind my work is:

How can an agent remain useful, measurable, secure, and recoverable after the demo is over?

🧬 Knowledge, RAG & Ontology Engineering

Enterprise AI becomes substantially more useful when it can understand organizational knowledge—not merely retrieve isolated text chunks.

I work with:

  • Enterprise RAG architectures
  • Azure AI Search and vector retrieval
  • Hybrid keyword-semantic search
  • Chunking and document-structure strategies
  • Metadata-aware retrieval
  • Query rewriting and decomposition
  • Context ranking and reranking
  • Knowledge graphs
  • Neo4j and Anzo
  • Domain ontology design
  • Ontology-as-code using YAML and JSON
  • Entity and relationship extraction
  • Grounded generation with source traceability
  • Memory architectures for conversational systems
  • Retrieval and answer-quality evaluation

I’m particularly interested in combining:

Knowledge graphs + vector retrieval + agent reasoning + deterministic controls

🏛️ Architecture Intelligence & AI Governance

A major area of my work is using AI to reason about enterprise systems themselves.

This includes:

  • Understanding C4, UML, Mermaid, and architecture-deck inputs
  • Converting architecture artifacts into structured representations
  • Mapping systems to reusable patterns and domain ontologies
  • Evaluating designs against controls, principles, and guardrails
  • Reviewing technology choices and lifecycle risks
  • Producing evidence-backed architecture observations
  • Generating diagrams and architecture-review artifacts
  • Integrating AI with enterprise architecture repositories
  • Designing multi-tenant and access-controlled AI platforms
  • Adding auditability, traceability, and human approval

Areas of deeper interest include:

  • Architecture review agents
  • Architecture knowledge graphs
  • Technology lifecycle and dependency intelligence
  • SBOM and end-of-life signals
  • Policy-as-code and guardrails-as-code
  • Enterprise architecture repository integrations
  • AI-assisted solution architecture generation

⚙️ AI-Native Software Engineering

I’m exploring how AI changes the software-development lifecycle—not merely how quickly code can be generated.
