Backport for v0.41.3.

Cherry-picked from master onto v0.41.2:

Commit PR What
5cc4b870 #17110 chore: update workflow templates to v0.11.87

requirements.txt only moves the templates pin 0.11.86 -> 0.11.87; everything else stays at the v0.41.2 base, which already carries the v0.41.1/v0.41.2 backports (#17067 Krea 3 Image node, #17068 templates v0.11.85, #17083 templates v0.11.86).

Same-repo branch cut directly from the v0.41.2 tag, linear, no merge commits, original author preserved. Version files untouched — the Backport Release workflow bumps comfyui_version.py and pyproject.toml. release/v0.41 tip is at v0.41.2, so the workflow can fast-forward it.

📝 Walkthrough

Adds and registers a Krea 3 image-generation node. The node supports up to eight reference images, resolves image references in prompts, uploads references with a resolution-based pixel limit, submits and polls generation requests, and returns the first result. The project version changes to 0.41.2, and the workflow-templates pin changes to 0.11.87.

Priority: ➖ Normal

Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to 2b408

This backport only bumps the workflow templates to 0.11.87, and the version numbers are correct. The Krea 3 node quietly drops every image after the first when a single reference input receives a batch of images. That is worth a follow-up, but it does not block the release.

Security architecture risk: 🔵 Low · up to 2b408

The new generation flow uses the existing authenticated service integration, and no new credential disclosure or attacker-selected network destination was established. Confidence is limited because the full comparison base was unavailable and server-side ownership and cleanup guarantees could not be verified.

Retained concerns
No architecture-level concerns identified.

Security review details

Security Blast Radius

  • inferred — The visible exposure covers reference images sent to the external service, jobs created using the execution's credentials, and response-selected downloads from the ComfyUI runtime. The inspected client does not establish cross-tenant, organization-wide, or infrastructure-administration reach.

Security Findings and Attack Paths

  • inferred — No introduced credential-disclosure or arbitrary-destination attack path was established in the inspected flow. Output URLs remain a trusted-service response boundary: the downloader follows redirects, but the node does not accept an output URL directly. The current Krea 2 path uses the same download pattern; whether that exposure predates this PR could not be verified against the unavailable base.

Trust Boundaries and Controls

  • observed — The Krea 3 output download supplies no node class. For an absolute result URL, the downloader initializes empty request headers and does not attach Comfy authentication credentials. This limits credential exposure but does not establish destination safety or backend asset/job ownership.

Resilience and Maintainability Implications

  • observed — Krea 3 supplies no cancellation endpoint or explicit cleanup for previously uploaded assets after partial failure. Polling handles common terminal statuses, but queued states do not consume the active-attempt budget. The current Krea 2 path shares these polling and cleanup characteristics and supports up to ten chained references, so material amplification was not established. Remote expiration, cancellation, ownership, and status guarantees remain unverified.

  • The generated Router/registry contract currently exposes only Krea 2 endpoints and schemas (/proxy/krea/...krea-2/..., KreaGenerateImageRequest); no Krea 3 endpoint or schema is present. [::Comfy-Org/ComfyUI_frontend::]

    • packages/registry-types/src/comfyRegistryTypes.ts:2591-2683, 12277-12368, 29168-29440
    • apps/website/src/data/workshop-router-openapi.snapshot.json contains krea/krea-2 but no krea/krea-3.
  • Frontend-localized node metadata documents Krea2StyleReferenceNode only, including its 10-node chaining behavior and URL-upload contract. No Krea 3 node definition was found. [::Comfy-Org/ComfyUI_frontend::]

    • src/locales/en/nodeDefs.json:10434-10451
  • The frontend does have a separate Krea 3 marketing page, but it is not accompanied by a Krea 3 Router API contract. This suggests the Core node can be generic/UI-discovered, but any typed Router or website model integration would require a coordinated contract update. [::Comfy-Org/ComfyUI_frontend::]

408-408: 🩺 Stability & Availability

The concern is refuted. Autogrow records an empty-dictionary default when no optional image inputs are submitted, and build_nested_inputs materializes that default as {}. The text-to-image path therefore provides model["images"] as an empty mapping, so no KeyError occurs and the proposed fallback is unnecessary.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Preserve every image in a batched reference input.

When one socket receives a batch, this code counts one reference and uploads one tensor. tensor_to_pil selects only image[0], so the remaining images silently disappear while the prompt still uses the socket count. Flatten reference batches before numbering and uploading them, and enforce the eight-image limit on the flattened count. (github.com)
